Walking on the sidewalk shouldn't be a life-threatening action. In some cases, however, pedestrians walking on the sidewalk are struck by motor vehicles or hit by objects that were hit by the motor vehicles.
A recent case in Maryland has claimed the life of a pedestrian who was walking on the sidewalk. This is only one of many pedestrians that have been killed in the same area. This accident, as well as the other ones that have occurred in the area, shows that pedestrian safety must be taken seriously by all drivers in the area of Wheaton.
The most recent fatal pedestrian accident occurred when an 83-year-old driver lost control of her vehicle. That vehicle crashed into a utility pole. After hitting the utility pole, the car struck the 45-year-old pedestrian.
The pedestrian moved to the United States eight years ago from the Honduras. She came into the country seeking the American dream and ended up having her life cut short by an automobile accident.
The pedestrian woman is said to have been a hard worker. She lived with several grandchildren and three sons. Now, those family members have to live without her. This woman's family is making arrangements to send her body back to Honduras.
Anyone who loses a loved one to a pedestrian accident similar to this woman's has the right to seek compensation from the driver who killed his or her loved one. This compensation, if awarded, wouldn't bring their loved one back. Instead, it could help those left behind to pay for the final expenses and other expenses related to the accident.
