In the past two blogs, we discussed motorcycle accidents. If you recall, we discussed how these accidents can be very serious. In some cases, they can lead to death. As is the case with other deaths that occur in traffic accidents, the death of a motorcyclist might be cause for a wrongful death lawsuit if the motorcyclist was killed because of negligent acts of another driver.
In our previous blog post, we discussed a case in which a motorcyclist was killed because of another driver's actions. That story was a tragedy, but it is also a reminder that riding a motorcycle essentially puts the biker at the mercy of other drivers on the roadways. Because motorcycles are open, the motorcyclist is more prone to injuries if there is an accident. The biker might be thrown from the bike or face direct hits that a person in a car, pickup truck, van or SUV wouldn't face.
All motorists must watch for motorcycles while they are driving, especially when the motorist is making left turns or proceeding through a stop sign or traffic signal. When motorists don't pay attention, fatal motorcycle accidents can occur.
When you lose a loved one in a car accident, your emotions will likely take over. The reality that your loved one is really gone might take a little while to come to fruition. It might happen while you are making the final arrangements for your loved one.
